As part of a structured doctorate, the doctoral candidates are involved in the activities of a group of researchers who ensure continuous, reliable, efficient and motivating supervision throughout the entire doctoral phase and increase both the chances of success of the doctoral project and the career opportunities in the academic field. The offer of courses / workshops and networking opportunities supports the progress of the doctorate. Structured doctoral training usually also includes other doctoral students who work on similar doctoral topics. This provides the opportunity for a qualified professional exchange on your own topic.
At Karl-Franzens-University Graz there are different formats of structured doctoral training: doctoral schools, doctoral programs, doctoral colleges / doc.funds (funded by the FWF) and groups of doctoral students composed of different funding. All structured forms of training serve the excellent qualification of young scientists.
